The end of this school year

The year is coming to an end, finally! This is the last week for us and most government schools. I think it has ended in the perfect time becuse of the crazy heat that has been going on these last few days. It got so hot that the ACs stopped working. No one comes out of class till they are in a pool of sweat.

Exams are starting at the 26th of this month, which is not far away. It will be going on till the 10th of next month. Everybody is very exited but affraid at the same time, I mean, this is our final exam, this will be, in most cases, defining our future.

The first samester of this year was really bad. More people than ever got really bad grades. Over 75 per cent of students in our school failed in atleast one subject. I wasn't within this category but sure as hell very close to it. Nobody knows why this has happened, teachers or student, but most students suspect its because of the changing of the books.

Books were made to be much harder this year. What they did is they took the books from the year ahead of us and put it in ours and made the books even harder for them. I am in grade 11 and in the sultanate, grade 11 is the final year of the experemental studies. This means that every thing they want to try, they try on us so that they could see what the results are and choose the best for the coming years. Ofcourse, they didn't say this publicly but every one knows it.
I see that they are trying to make education better but why do it on our expense. Anyways, I am not going to bring excuses to why I got bad marks, I will try to work harder to make this samester better and so would everybody else, after all, this is all we can do.

Note: I wouldn't be able to post any thing untill the 10th of next month because of my exams. Wish me luck...

The Oman Travel Market

The Oman Travel Market was held in the Oman International Exzibition Centre (OIEC) starting from yesterday the 9th. It was pritty small and the buisnesses that participated were very few too. You would think that after being sponsored by Oman Air, Gulf Air, Qatar Air and much more, it would have been bigger.

I payed it a visit today. It's all about tourism in and off Oman. I got to see lots of offers from airlines and hotels. I also found new places to visit in Oman during my holidays. Ofcourse all the places I will be visiting, I will be taking pictures of them and puting them on this blog. It wasn't too bad and I had a good time although I would have liked it to be more publisized. If it wasn't for me looking for events in news papers, I wouldn't have found out about this.

Tsunami in Oman...Not True!!

As expected from the very beggining, none of the rumors were true. Many who lived there moved to other places for the day just to be on the safe side but it was all for nothing.

The weather was also as hot and clear as it always is. I dont have much to say about this except that it was all nonsence.

Please feel free to comment on this topic. I am sure you must have somthing to say about it...

Continue: Tsunami in Oman (True or Not?)

So far it seems that the rumors are nothing but rumors. We have been told that we would see signs of the Tsunami but all I see is clear skys and no clouds at all. People are loosing faith in this rumor and also reliefed that our country is not going to be hit by this dangerous storm so far.

If this actually happens, the country will have lots to loose because the areas mentioned are very high in population and has lots of buisnesses there. (The Wave), which is one of the biggest on going project in the Sultanate, will be completly destroyed. The economy will go way down and we will have lots of work to do to get our country back up to where it is now.

I have checked the weather forecast for the up coming days and there are no signs of storms, rain or even clouds any time soon. Things seem to be going good and we all hope and pray for it to continue to go well and watch this wonderful country grow higher and better throught out the coming years, it a shame for the opposite to happen.

I will bring you more of what will happen on the 9th, so keep on coming back!

Tsunami in Oman (True or Not?)

There are rumors that a Tsunami will hit Oman on the 9th of this month on the coast of Qurum and Ghubra, Muscat. Rumors say that an old indian priest had dreamt about the Tsunami hiting asia in the past years and about the floods in Salalah and now dreams that a Tsunami hits Qurum and Ghubra. People didn't take him seriously the first times but now it seems as though the people of Muscat have nothing else on there minds, waiting for the 9th to see how true the rumers are. Even the news pappers took intrest in this topic.

The priest also says that we will be seeing signs of the Tsunami on the 7th (which is tomorrow) like strong winds and so on which would be remarkable if it did happen because of the heat that we are in now.

The authorities had alerted all who lives there of this rumor and now they will be forced to move if the signs really do appeare.

I will give you all the latest updates of this rumor so, keep on coming back to see what happens.
