Their facilities include:
  • Excellent secluded private beach
  • beach restaurant
  • A Well stocked diving shop
  • 4 comfortable custom-built dive boats
  • Full dive equipment hire and Nitrox fills
  • Custom-built dive pool and peripheral activities
    Romantic Beach accomodation
  • Kayaks & Pedallos rental
Best Diving spots:
Bandar Jussa: Sheer coral reef outside our bay
Bandar Jussa provides 5 excellent dive sites with wonderful corals and boulders to swim around. Because of the shallow depth (up to 15 meters) this site is very suitable for training and night dives. Plenty of cuttlefish, spiny lobster and the odd turtle have been spotted. This is our house reef. Situated at the end of the bay only 3 minutes away from the Dive Centre.

Bandar Khairan: A Maze of beautifull dive sites
15 min away from the centre, a large area of outstanding beauty, with rocky outcrops, deserted beaches and small islands accessible only by boat. The underwater scenery does not disappoint with stunning rock falls, picturesque walls and reefs festooned with colorful arrays of coral and tropical fish. Bandar Khairan offers shallow bay dives and deep wall dives for both the beginners and experienced diver.

Fahal Island: The Shark Island...
Just 30 minutes away from us, Fahal Island offers a number of dive sites with an amazing diversity. It has the greatest variety of coral in one area in the whole of Muscat, and the dive sites are mainly reefs. The maximum depth is about 30 metres. Just East of North Bay there is a wreck of a tugboat at about 30 metres with a concrete barge situated shallower and close by. Abundant marine life, black tip reef sharks, rays and turtles are met regularly during the dives. Two offshore reefs give ample opportunity to see large ocean-going creatures, which sometimes include whale shark, and unusual coral, which are only seen at these sites.

Daymaniyat Island: Wild & untouched...
This is a string of offshore islands which offer a protected sanctuary for migrating birds. In order to be able to dive here, prior permission must be obtained from the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Environment. The numerous underwater sites offer just 1h30 away from the centre, unspoilt diving, pristine coral gardens, reefs, walls, abundant fish life, large pelagic, turtles, rays and various sharks, including leopard sharks which have only been seen here. The whale shark is also a frequent visitor.

Ras Abu Daoud & Quriyat Wreck Down South..
1 Hour away from ODC, the wall at Ras Abu Daoud varies in depth from 8 to 30 metres. Here, you’ll find a delightful swim-through where you will literally have to push the fish out of the way! Your second dive is usually the Quriyat wreck "MS Mimoona", lying in 8-16metres. Cargo is still identifiable and spread over a large area. In the wheelhouse you can often find the some enormous resident honey comb moray eels. Schools of fish abound, particularly barracuda and occasionally the rare frog fish can be seen.

A visit to a place called Sohar

I visited yesterday a place in the Batina Region called Sohar.

(First of all, I would like to say that I will make posts on regions so, that you know where each region is in Oman).
Back to our topic. I had lots of fun. So much fun that I decided to make it into a video.
You will find in the video, pictures and videos taken from Sohar. I also put information about Sohar in the video so that you can learn more about it. Enjoy!

video

For you who are not lucky enough to have ADSL connection and can not watch the video, I can't help you much.

All I can do is show you a few pictures taken from there but you won't get information about it. You can only get that from the video. Sorry...

The Sohar Entrance

The Sohar Fort

Fishing Port

The Cornich

Like I said earlier, if you want to see more and know more, find a way to watch the video.

If you watched the video, then I hope you liked it :)

Wahiba sands

The Wahiba Sands are one of the many tourism spots in Oman. It is located in Sharqiya.
The Wahiba Sands lies in the eastern region of Oman. The sands stretch from north to south 180 kilometers, east to west 80 kilometers, with high dunes, extensive woodlands and an unspoiled coastline. Some of the sand dunes are 100 meters in height. Total land area is approximately 12,000 square kilometers with about 3,000 Bedu of varying tribal origins including Janabah, Mawalik, Hikman, Amr and Wahiba.

A lot of resorts have been built to support tourism and income to the country. Resorts here come with a traditional night every night. The resorts also have traditional Arabian smoke (sheesha). The Resorts are powered by solar power and has a large water tank for water supply. Wild animals are usually seen outside the resort.
Birds are usually seen during immigration season in the winter.

The most common activity in Desert resorts is Sand boarding which is a free facility supported by the resorts. Other than that you can rent Track bikes or 4-wheel bikes. When you arrive in Sharqiya there is so much to see and so many places to visit that it will be difficult to know where to begin your explorations. You may hire a guide and driver who will take you around the resort which will give you unforgettable memories. The guide may take you to the top of the mountains to the dry bed creeks of the wadi. And experience almost 75 degree steep glide from the top of the mountain.

Since this location is far from city lights, I recommend you to bring a telescope. When the beautiful sun sets and the night fall, the skies are filled with stars and galaxies. I’ve also seen couple of falling stars myself. The best times I had in Wahiba sands was at night when it was totally dark. I could just stare at the stars for hours.

My experience in this place will never be forgotten.

My country the beautiful

I live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world (in my opinion). It has the best scenery ever. Every thing from rocky mountains to sandy deserts to amazing long beaches. You can never get bored of what you see here. I can go to the same place twice and still be as amazed as I was the first time.
All of this beauty but most of the citizens here never realize it. They always look for reasons to travel. They always give excuses and say that our country has nothing. "There is never any thing to do in this country" thats what most of them say. These people don't know what they are missing out. You see a huge number of tourists coming here every year. Some even decide to live here. We have wonders that they never find back home. If the tourists can see it then so should we the locals. I finally see it now.
You should too, citizens and tourists. If you live here, go discover new places. If not, then come to this wonderful country and you wont regret it. You have my word on that one.
